Color block full width – content fixed with

I would really love to have a full color block on my pages with fixed width content in the center. When I use the color block right now, my text extends full width with no padding on the sides whatsoever and It looks terrible.
I would also like to add a photo on one side and text on the other within one color block. Please tell me thats possible! It’s extremely difficult to make this theme look professional for business purposes…. it takes me hours to find a way to make it look semi-decent on desktop, then I check it on mobile and everything is everywhere. Extremely frustrating. Really hoping you can help a girl out here.
I’m using the hello chic theme.
Thanks.

What is the URL to a page you are trying to do this with?

The colorblock code has two parts to it.  The part that adds the full block, then the part that adds padding.  It sounds like that part may be missing.  However, this is something that can be done with the Gutenberg editor now. When the Colorblocks were added, Gutenberg was not a thing.  So instead of using that colorblock code, you can use a full width gutenberg block and then column blocks in that.  We have videos on the support site that go over how to use Gutenberg.  If those do not help, I can hop on and place an example up.

Another option is to use a page builder for your interior pages, Elementor or Beaver Builder are the two most popular with Genesis themes.

Thanks, I’ll check out my code and I’ll check out the videos! I’ve been trying to use beaver builder but I think the theme is blocking the builder from going full width on the page.

The easiest would be the Genesis Dambuster plugin.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-dambuster/

It says that it hasn’t been tested with the latest WordPress releases but it works just fine.

The other option is adding negative margins. Let me know if you need additional help with this.
