Footer2 not showing unless I add content to Footer1

Hello,
In Hello Foxy theme, I tried to skip footer 1 widget since I do not need it, however, I noticed, my Footer 2 widget wont appear until I add something into Footer1.
How can I avoid showing Footer 1 without this problem?

There is no way around that.  I’m not sure if it is a Genesis thing or WordPress.  But you can use an empty Text Widget, or Custom HTML in Footer 1
