Blocks not appearing

I am unable to see the blocks when I view the page to edit it. On the actual page the blocks show up, but when I go into edit the page there is nothing there. I can\\\’t figure out how I am supposed to use the block examples that came with the theme. I have a photo of what I see when I open up the editor. I tried looking at in the code too and there is nothing there. I tried downloading Genesis blocks hoping that would help but it didn\\\’t. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My site is not live yet.
