Replacing Home Slider with Static Image in Hello Sassafras

I am trying to increase my site speed, and the Home Slider widget is impacting it more than anything else. I would like to get rid of the slider and replace with a static image of the same size. I love my theme and don’t want to damage it, so I wanted to ask what widget I should substitute in this area instead? Thank you!
