How to make the widget page the home page

I have the coach theme. I also previously had a theme that had a home page. My original home page is still the home page but I don’t see how I make the widgets page the home page. When I go to assign, it’s assigning the original home page. Even I remove the original homepage and create a new homepage, how do I connect the widgets so they can be the homepage. Also, how do you see that page? Confused.

This can be any page. If the content was not imported you can create any page to be the homepage. Then while in the editor for that page, assign the homepage template. After you save it, go to your settings > reading > and assign that page you created.

replied 3 years ago when i go to settings and readings I can’t assign anything. I’ve included a picture above. there are no drop down options to assign a page.
Support TeamYes. You have to assign that template to a page for it to show. Then if you want it to be your homepage you assign it in the settings.

replied 3 years ago Yes I did and it now shows. the problem was the drop down were not showing up in settings/readings. They are connected. Now if I want my other pages to look similar like my home page with the blocks and widgets, how would i do that?
The homepage is custom coded to look like that. You can use the genesis blocks plugin for beautiful interior layouts, or your favorite page builder like element or beaver builder.

On that homepage, you have to assign the custom homepage template to the page you want the widgets to show on.
1. I can’t find that homepage on my own. I just happen to find it. 2. I was just on the page, clicked edit page, assigned it the home page, published and my original home page continues to appear. I’m not sure what you mean.
What is your url to preview?
I need to do this over again. Why can’t I delete the theme or genesis? I want to reinstall and start over again.

I deleted my old home page and when i went back to homepage2, the top of the widgets are now gone.
When I preview the site the theme is not active. Which is why you can not get the homepage to show. If you are unable to delete themes, that is going to be on your host. You may need to log on to your hosting account and remove both in your file manager. However, if installed you should be good once you activate the theme and then follow those setup guides.
Hi, I uninstalled everything and am starting over. I deleted my old pages so I’m starting new. Your instructions for the Homepage are “If you would like the custom homepage to show as your sites homepage go to Settings > Reading > and select Home from the dropdown menu. Or whatever page you assigned the Custom Homepage template to. Then set the Posts page to Blog or whatever page you assigned the blog page to.” When I go to Reading Settings there is no drop down menu. It only gives me the option of how many blog posts should show at one time, syndication feeds, for each post etc. No drop down menu.
Hi again. I started over again and going step by step. I included a picture. My “reading settings” does not have your homepage displays. I looked through the other categories and that doesn’t show up.
I found the reading settings in the customizer and changed them there. But the one-page “homepage” that has the widgets, I can’t find. I’ve updated all of them in the widgets section, but yesterday I had the page and just needed to connect it and now there is no page. I’ve reinstalled everything several times.
