Hello, 
I recently installed a new Kadence theme (Hello Iris) and I am in the throes of customizing the site. I have set my homepage to the “coming soon” page, but I can’t find where my existing blog posts have been incorporated into the new theme. Do you have any instructions for someone who’s kindof a newb at all of this?

With wordpress they will show up automatically on a page that you assign to the blog.  If you go to Settings > Reading > then assign the normal blog page, not custom.  That will have your posts auto filtered to it.  If you assign the custom blog page you will not be able to customize anything on that page as wordpress overrides it with the posts.  You can also find your posts in the category archives that you assign them to.  Those can be linked in your menu as well.
