I have a newsletter widget that came with the Hello Beauty theme and I was wondering if it’s connected to anything or if there is something I need to install to configure it.

The Genesis Enews widget needs to be connected to your newsletter provider. A good one is mailchimp, they are free up to the first 2k subscribers I believe. If you choose to go that route, here is the setup guide for mailchimp.
