Pagination for Portfolio page on luv

Hello,
Can you tell me how I can enable pagination for the portfolio page? When I load the portfolio page it displays all the portfolio items, but at the moment I have 15 portfolio posts, will have more in the future, if I set the reading settings to less than 15 only the amount I set displays but no pagination to say there are more, also there is a weird problem when I set it to less than the number of posts when I filter them not all posts from that category display! I have tested this multiple time and this is the case. This site is for a wedding photographer and the portfolio pages will be galleries so there will be quite a few in coming months.
