author and time stamp

I wanted to show my author and time stamp for posts but if I activate my user profile, it just shows a rather large gravatar pic and then it just says “about Cristina.” And there is no time stamp. Does my theme allow me to just put a simple “by (author)  and then a time stamp?

I’m not sure that I fully understand.  Is it this section?

Yes that area. I was wondering if there’s a way to just show my name as an author and the time stamp? I don’t see that on my posts.
