Hi there,
I totally forgot to proof my site on mobile devices and the home slider is being cropped on cell phones, both apple and android. Can this be fixed?

When I view the site it looks like the same ratio on mobile. There is not anything in the theme code that would adjust the % for the height and width of the images. The captions are larger so they fit. This is for the front slider, or different?

Yes, the home page front slider. It’s cropping on all mobile devices for me to the point where you can’t read the text on the top line. It’s doing this on iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy S7 and also my iPad.

The image is not being cropped – it’s the comment box on top of the image. So it’s just the overlay box of type that has the link to the page I’m linking to.

So on phones, the white box of text is wider than on ipads but the white box of text is getting cropped on the top. On iPads the white box of text is really small in width which is making the text get cut off on the top.

I realized this is the Soliloquy plugin. Would I get more control of how the text box works on mobile if I upgrade? I can’t tell from their website what I would get access to.

No, it is code that I can adjust in the theme file so you do not have to upgrade.

Hi, this fix is actually the one I’m most concerned about because you can’t read the text boxes on any sliders on mobile devices. Can you let me know when you will have time for this? Thanks. I asked folks to give me feedback on the blog and several of them are mentioning the text on this slider is cutting off.

Just saw the other message that it is good to log on. Should have this fixed in the AM as well as the other adjustments.

Let me know when – I just tried to clear cache and it’s still cropped.

What screensize is it showing as cropped? I did the most I could to shrink it and keep it readable. May need to hide it if it is a super small screensize.

So what’s happening is on ipads large and small ones, when the screen is turned vertical, the text box gets super skinny which is making it crop on the top. I’m looking at it on multiple ipads and phones. On all phones it’s cropping on top no matter if its vertical or horizontal. If the white text box could just be widened more on mobile devices when the screen are vertical, then it would work I think. Right now the top of the text box is too tall. Do you have an ipad to see what I’m talking about? I attached an image with the cropping issues in my very first comment.

I think maybe the cache is sticking on the device you are using. Try clearing it again and let me know if that helps. when I look on my ipad both ways, it looks good.

Ok, the phones looks good now. so that got fixed. It’s the iPads that are still cropping on top for me. I can’t add another photo here to show you. I’ve cleared cache several times. I keep having to edit my text down to get things to fit.
