Adding a Subdomain

QuestionsCategory: QuestionsAdding a Subdomain

I am wondering what the process would be to add a subdomain to my site now that I am hosting with you. I have not seen any information on your site about it. I kind of want to purchase another theme and install it on a subdomain. What is the process to make this happen? Or would I have to host somewhere else?
Thank you

If it is a subdomain it can be added to your current hosting account. The best route is to convert your current install to a multisite. Then you can add as many subdomains as you like and also run different themes on each subdomain. An example of a multisite with subdomains is the main HYD site, and then most demo sites.

https://helloniche.co/ and then each demo is on a subdomain.

When ready shoot me an email. The main site will need to be down for a couple hours while the conversion happens. Then we would need access to your domains DNS to create and point the subdomain.

Thank you for your quick response Jennifer. What does that mean to convert my current install to a multisite? You’re still only hosting one domain right?

Yes, that is correct. It is 1 hosting account. But with a multisite you can have endless subdomains.

yourdomain.com
sub1.yourdomain.com
sub2.yourdomain.com

etc would all be on the same install. You manage it from the same spot, but each is it’s own site, with content and theme.

Okay perfect!! I’m going to start laying out everything I want on the subdomain, and I will let you know when I am ready. Thank you so much!
