Why is my featured image not showing in previews – when I send a link. Ie. See image attached.

This is not going to be a theme setting. What helps is Yoast, which is an SEO plugin. You can set the image and also wording that is shown when you share a link. Also sometimes time will fix this. If the site hasn’t been crawled yet, other sites don’t know what to pull when the link is shared.
