Fixed links on same page

Hello Boho theme
I’m making a table of contents on a page. When I add a fixed link on the page, it makes the page jump right to the very top of the screen, and you can’t read the first few lines as there’s a visible fixed header on every page. The first line or so of each paragraph, where I’ve put the href tags, is under the fixed header.
Is there a way to make it take the fixed header into account and make the internal links on a page not jump to the very top?
I hope that makes sense!
Thanks

What is a link that I can see it in action?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you about this. You can see it happening here: https://www.girlsguidetopm.com/free-project-status-report-template/
It’s the same on any page with a table of contents. Click something in the ToC and the page jumps right to the top, so the section header and the first lines of the text are under the blog title and menu bar.

The way to do this would be to give the anchor a class that will control the scroll.  Then add the styling for the anchor in the style sheet.  Could you shoot over a login to the site and I can place a test one up and adjust the code you would need for it.  jennifer@helloyoudesigns.com
