How do I add the little descriptions on the menu items?

To set the description under the main menu item, select “Screen Options” from the very top right hand corner of the Menu page. There you will see a bunch of options and make sure that “Description” is checked. Once that is checked you will be able to add a small description with your main menu item.
JenniferOnce you check that box, you can open a menu item and see the description box. That is where you would add them.

replied 5 years ago Can you only add descriptions if the Menu item is a “Page”? I changed my menu item to a custom link and the description is not showing up, despite the boxed being checked.
No, you can open any menu item and add a description to it. When you created the new menu item, did you also add a description? Or is the description box blank?
